The Reggae Mountain Lounge was transformed into entertainment central recently, as patrons rocked and sang to the live and up-close performance of renowned Dancehall/Reggae artiste and JN Group Ambassador, Jeffrey Campbell, more popularly known as Agent Sasco.

Agent Sasco feels the music as he delivers an exhilarating show for his fans

This, after The Jamaica National Group hosted a competition online, inviting fans of Agent Sasco to comment their favourite lyrics on a pinned reel on their Instagram page. Subsequently, 10 lucky ‘superfans’ who commented, were randomly selected, and invited to the ‘JN Up Close and Personal Concert Experience’, which was held at a “secret location.” Each winner was also allowed to take one guest with them.

Buses transported the attendees, who didn’t know where the concert was being held, from the JN Group Corporate Office on Belmont Road, to the cool hills of Skyline Drive, just above Papine in St Andrew, where they enjoyed cocktails and hor d’oeuvres, as well as a meet and greet photo ‘opp’ with the artiste, ahead of the concert.

Clad in a navy-blue pants and shirt, accentuated by a white jacket, Agent Sasco performed hits from his impressive catalogue and was supported by a backing band while the crowd vibed. Songs such as ‘Banks of the Hope’, ‘Winning Right Now’, ‘Grateful’ and ‘Loco,’ were among the several top tunes which the artiste performed in his set that lasted about an hour.

The artiste got real, ‘up close and personal’ with his fans as he paused his set to “‘hol’ a reason” with patrons and gave them a chance to sing the lyrics on mic and engage them during his electrifying performance, punctuated by moments of intimacy with his audience.

At one point, the DJ removed his jacket and gave it to a female fan to hold while he immersed himself deeper into his performance. He then gave the fan the most pleasant surprise of the evening, when he announced that she could keep it.

Carlene Edwards, head of promotions and sponsorships at JN, who led the organising team for the event, said the intent was to give JN members, followers and also employees a special treat.

“We wanted to do something special with him and give our customers a chance to have an opportunity to meet him, take photos and get his autograph. The winners of the competition also brought a ‘plus one’, and we also have some employees enjoying the experience as well,” she noted.

The event was sponsored by Red Stripe who kept the drinks flowing throughout the evening.
