As a lead up to the 10th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, the JN Group will, on Thursday May 30, host an online panel discussion to initiate dialogue on existing and emerging opportunities for entrepreneurs and businessowners, both in the Diaspora and Jamaica.

The webinar, dubbed the ‘Jamaica Diaspora Dialogue: Exploring Business opportunities at home and abroad’, will be streamed live on Zoom and YouTube, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The JN Group, which is one of three legacy sponsors of the Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, said the pre-event will be used to promote critical conversations that will help deepen the relationship between Jamaica and its Diaspora further.

The company said: “The hope is that the conversations will help to demystify the process of starting and investing in a business in Jamaica and highlight opportunities for local businessowners to meet the needs of the Diaspora market sustainably.”

The forum will explore areas such as trade and investment opportunities across borders, technology in business, banking support services for entrepreneurs and businessowners, and investment and corporate financing solutions for investors.

Valerie Veira, CEO of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) and Michelle Tulloch-Neil from the Global Diaspora Council, Northeast USA will be among the panellists alongside a representative from the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO). Gillian Hyde, Deputy Managing Director for JN Bank; Dmitri Dawkins, Commercial Director for Pheonix International – a division of the JN Group’s technology member company, MC Systems and Natalie Brown, Head of Investment Banking at JN Fund Managers will round out the panel.

The event will be moderated by well-known media and public relations strategist, Archibald Gordon. Interested persons may register at https://bit.ly/jndiasporadialogue or join the conversation on the JN Group’s YouTube channel.

Attendees will be given opportunities to make comments or pose questions to the panellists throughout the webinar.

Persons will also have the opportunity to further engage the agencies represented or continue conversations initiated at the webinar, at the upcoming 10th Biennial Diaspora Conference, to be held from June 16 -19, 2024, at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, St James.
