JN Group will renew its campaign for a sixth time to commemorate Breast Awareness Month under the 2023 theme ‘Take the Brave Steps.’

“Sixty-seven out of every 100,000 women have breast cancer, and it is predicted that one out of every 21 women in Jamaica will develop breast cancer in her lifetime,” Micheal Leslie, Acting Executive Director of the Jamaica Cancer Society (JCS), disclosed at a JN Group Power Pink Pop-Up Session to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, outside the JN Bank Half Way Tree branch in October 2022.

This year, JN Group will stage the sixth renewal of the Power of Pink under the theme ‘Take the Brave Steps’, to sustain awareness of breast cancer in Jamaica. The campaign will seek to continue to educate people about the diseases and raise funds for cancer research, as well as support those who have been affected directly and indirectly by breast cancer. Last year, more than J$2.5 million were raised and donated to the JCS and Reach to Recovery to assist the cause.

Similar to last year, persons can look out for information about free mammograms, which will be organised through partnership with the JCS. Information about how to register for these opportunities, along with facts and tips about breast cancer and screening will also be made available via our website jngroup.com and other JN member company websites.

Remember, early detection saves lives! Therefore, if you’re a woman 40 and over, get screened by getting a mammogram.

Look out for more information on how you can support!
