Managing Director, MCS Group

    Rakesh Goswami was appointed an Executive of The Jamaica National Group Limited in March 2020.

    He has been assigned oversight responsibility for the MCS Group, which comprise the non-financial, non-regulated companies of The Jamaica National Group Limited.

    With more than 30 years of strategic management, leadership and operational management experience, he has a track record of developing strong managers and teams.  He previously worked with Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) initially as the Chief Financial Officer in 2007 and subsequently as Executive Vice President, Strategic Alliances, Enterprise & Tobago Operations until he took early retirement in 2019.

    Mr Goswami started his career as Assistant Manager – Audit at Pannell Kerr Foster, London and then joined Pricewaterhouse (Jamaica) as Senior Consultant – Corporate Finance in 1991.  He worked with J. Wray and Nephew Limited as General Manager – Finance and Administration and as Chief Financial Officer for Cable and Wireless Jamaica.

    In 2003 he joined R&R Resorts, LLC as Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operations Officer, in Georgia, USA, with responsibility for the overall operations of the marketing and reservations office in Atlanta and the smooth functioning of a multi-national wellness group, with resorts in Georgia, Costa Rica and Mexico.

    He was appointed to the Board of Nuklyus Limited in 2018 – a company that is creating the first data centre in Tobago.  He has served as a Committee member of Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB), a sub-committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago and as a Board member of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (2013-2019) and as Vice President (2015-2019).

    A Chartered Accountant (ACA & FCA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Rakesh Goswami completed the B.A. (Hons) in Economics at the Delhi University, India.  He has lectured in Financial Statements Analysis for MSc International Finance Students at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, Trinidad. During his time in Jamaica, he taught Management Accounting & Tax to ACCA students with the Students Accountancy Training Consortium.

    Raised in the foothills of the Himalayas in India, Rakesh is an avid nature enthusiast. He trekked to Everest Base camp at the age of 17 and journeyed to Mount Kailash at 18,000feet in Tibet in 2019. A practicing yogi, he is passionate about life and developing teams that practice an Outward Mindset – focusing on helping their customers achieve their goals first and foremost. He speaks Hindi and English fluently and also basic German and Spanish. On most weekends he is spotted on a bicycle riding up in the Blue Mountains or swinging Golf clubs at Caymanas.

    He is happily married to Louann, a Kundalini yoga teacher, for the past 27 years.
